Since the first documented mention in 1579, the PFEIFER Group has now been operating as a rope manufacturer for more than 444 years. Unlike in earlier centuries, traditionally manufactured hemp ropes hardly play a role anymore.
With demanding wire ropes and services, PFEIFER today produces and assembles reliable solutions for industrial plants, mining and surface mining, and cranes worldwide.
DRAKO is the PFEIFER rope brand that stands for reliable connections in mining and surface mining. The individual product lines and ropes are matched in detail to the respective requirements of the hoisting installation and the individual environmental influences.
Even in applications under difficult conditions, for example with strongly fluctuating humidity and temperature differences, DRAKO ropes convince with a long service life. Especially for the Asian market, special flat lower ropes are still manufactured traditionally.
In this process, individual rope strands are elaborately sewn together to form a single flat-looking rope.

We build connections you can count on
To keep costs and delivery times low, the ropes designed in Mülheim an der Ruhr are produced in two German and one Chinese PFEIFER plants. Before each shipment, it is ensured that all DRAKO ropes have successfully passed the internal testing system. Here, all raw materials, production steps, and the finished ropes are extensively tested in chemical, mechanical and optical processes.
All DRAKO production sites are also regularly inspected externally and are certified according to ISO-9001, ISO-50001, and ISO-14001. The Mülheim a. d. Ruhr site has also been awarded the Ecovadis Sustainability Rating.
